How To Make Wall Attached Table

Remembering

Just over two months, the death of Maria Elena Walsh brought back memories to many memory, among them the first time I knew of its existence, when my colleague M. led the College an album of his (probably Look Songbook). I had bought the disc to her younger sister had heard M. and was amazed.

I also remembered when I read the famous article "Misadventures in the Land Kindergarten" , which in turn was seen by many middle class Argentines as a courageous act of resistance against the dictatorship. But it was thanks to my esteemed colleague Profquesada to reread a paragraph or two at that time (1979) sounded reasonable and now seem unworthy of its author, and an aberrant line with the speech of criminals Process:

(...) That the authorities have waged a bitter war against subversion and seek to maintain social peace are widely acknowledged facts. It would just set ourselves up in our turn sensors that know intricate task and we are beneficiaries. But that does not justify the honored survivors of the chaos we enclose a preconciliar convent school, threatened to fall-out "at any time and without knowing why. About

(...) play the tricky task of governing, and banished, and thank-those machine guns everywhere we pointed well attended because of security measures and quarantine should ease that still apply on maturity of a people (...)

After the return of democracy was accompanied by the songs of María Elena Walsh. And later, personally, my children grew up with their creations and enjoyed. Already

that the foregoing does not imply reproach to MEW in particular. I link to my reflections on society in Argentina during the process, more precisely over much of its middle. Who had been relieved on 24 March of '76, because the military promised peace and order. Who looked the other way when an "operative" was flying home or kidnapped people. Society "for something is that they took" and "something be done."

Economically, the company accepted without question the plan of Martinez de Hoz, with its trail of impoverishment, unemployment and indebtedness, and was seduced by the cheap dollar of the "planchette." It was not uncommon to see people who a few years before an image was politicized and revolutionary queuing at airports to travel to Miami and take the "give me two" of the "easy money."

course, this reflection would be dishonest if I did not remember my own attitude in those years. Attended the Faculty of Mathematics and tried to continue my normal life, like other millions of Argentines. Over the months I noticed that some colleagues were seen no more by the faculty, but did not seem wise to ask too. Surely I must have worried about whether my name was on any agenda. Magazines and newspapers "dangerous" that kept my old was charged with a campfire. The fear we had gotten all in the blood, and it seemed perfectly natural. At times it seemed that we had to atone for the collective guilt of having tolerated or of not having enough opposed to "subversion", and that had to pay. And what if you were paying ...

Reports coming from outside about what was happening here seemed too exaggerated, probably were the guerrillas and terrorists escaped to burner the "anti-Argentine campaign." Concentration camps here in our country? "Flight of Death"? Should be pure inventions ... As one painted on the bridge of Avenida Córdoba and Juan B. Just, "Never underestimate the power of denial."

course many sectors "cults" stunned by the excessive, brutal and seemingly stupid repression in the cultural field. The resistance in this area went to read the magazine Humor, for example. It is in this context that the note of ME Walsh. Only after coming economic collapse, the Falklands, the discovery of the truth about the "war against subversion" ... Still, in 1983, much of the sanctimonious middle class, the worst that could happen was that the election triumph Peronism. Which did not happen.

In other anniversaries of March 24 victims remembered and their perpetrators, both direct and indirect . I will not fail to remember, but I think that this reflection was pending.

Three brothers of my colleague M., including her younger sister, were kidnapped during the process and today are still missing.

PS: Of course, "the fear we had gotten all the blood" is an unfair generalization, as there was much @ s that do not fear, or even if they had had that did not stop them fight. Perhaps this explains in part the rejection and hatred that still generate DD.HH. agencies among many "Argentine media" should not be nice to feel that the value of other contrasts with the cowardice and / or complicity of their own. Y when someone that once had prestige in Journalism says "I have fed up with the dictatorship", tune very well with that discomfort.
