The outbreak of racism, intolerance and xenophobia that ignited much of the Buenos Aires population from Villa Soldati events put a black spot at end of the year. To which one must add the demonstration of irresponsibility, shame, misery, and so on., Etc. Head of Government of Mauritius Macri and sidings, encouraging and using that fear outbreak addition to their political objectives (if everything was an armed operation, which until now was denied, seems to have gone quite well.)
But racism and other ills of our society are not an invention of Macri. Are relatively hidden in times of calm, and jump to the surface to an appropriate stimulus.
Against this background, I noticed a grinding poverty in the majority responses of "Progressivism sanctimonious" to the situation unfolded in Villa Soldati and its consequences, beyond expressions of horror and condemnation of the xenophobic actions of PRO government.
seemed that in this situation, the most reactionary positions enjoyed an overwhelming "victory culture." For what can you say "liberal" to someone who would emerge because he fears the worst reactions to the "dark" will be installed in the back of his house?
occurred to me that the answers to this dilemma was to be sought elsewhere and did not make much sense to look for specific solutions if it was not clear the essential concept that is facing a problem of this type. And for that I turned to the thought of a Latin American leader closely tied with Juan Domingo Perón: General Omar Torrijos. A book edited by Eudeba in 1973 that collected several of his speeches, here's a snippet:

course, this is not intended as a panegyric of Torrijos but to recover his thought and conception of social promotion. Beyond the enormous differences between the current reality of Argentina and Panama of his time, demonstrates an attitude absolutely Torrijos Peronist going to the core of social problems: the dignity of man, from below, from their own reality. Without neglecting the criminal aspects and issues of marginalization in general, including the fight against those who profit from misery and needs of others, do not forget where is the root of the problem: the dignity of the individual. And for that no need for progressive theoretical ruminations too deep. With Peronism in its deepest meaning, and plenty enough.
